Welcome to Working with UCL F1 in Schools Academy

At MechSpace, as the UCL F1 in Schools Academy, we would like to fill in the gap for those schools that might not have the machinery, but whose students have the talent and the willingness to take part in the competition. This is why we do not charge for the manufacturing, as we are committed to support the education of the schools who would like to work with us.

Please check the MIND MAP- How to work with UCL F1 in Schools Academy document, and if you need to contact us, please do so using THIS ONLINE FORM.

You should note that, we do not act only as a manufacturing centre; but we would like the schools that we work with to get involved in the iterative process where they will be receiving technical advice from our technical staff to improve their designs. Hence, the lead manufacturing time is more related to how quick you act on the iteration/changes recommended by our Technical Team to make your model manufacturable.

The usual timeline since the design has been signed off is 7-10 working days, but for that we would have to have on site the blocks that you should be purchasing from the Denford webshop. Please note that the manufacturing delivery times will also depend on the period of the year, since we need to prioritise our UCL MechEng student projects.

Test Track

You can register your interest and book a timeslot to use our F1 in Schools Test track and see how your car models perform. Sessions will be made available every second Friday of each month between 3pm and 6pm.

If you are planning to come to MechSpace to test your car models, you will need to be accompanied by an adult. This can be either your teacher (preferred) or an over 18 who will be acting as the guardian of the team.

Please be aware that the latest that you can book a date is 24 hours before the date of the testing.
